The Halloween Ghost
It was Halloween night. Emma and her brother Max walked to a big, old house at the end of the street. People said it was haunted.
“Let’s go inside,” said Max.
Emma was scared. “What if we see a ghost?” she asked.
They opened the door. It was dark and cold. A black cat ran past them and made a loud noise. “Meow!” Emma jumped.
Then they heard a strange sound—“Woooooo!” A white shape moved down the stairs. It was a ghost! Emma and Max screamed and ran outside.
But then, the ghost took off his mask. It was their friend Leo in a costume!
“Happy Halloween!” he laughed.
Emma and Max laughed too. They weren’t scared anymore. They all went to get candy together.

Era la noche de Halloween. Emma y su hermano Max caminaron hasta una casa grande y vieja al final de la calle. La gente decía que estaba embrujada.

Abrieron la puerta. Estaba oscuro y hacía frío. Un gato negro corrió frente a ellos e hizo un ruido fuerte. ¨¡Miau!¨ Emma dio un salto.
Entonces escucharon un sonido extraño. “¡Woooooo!” Una figura blanca bajaba por las escaleras. ¡Era un fantasma! Emma y Max gritaron y salieron corriendo.
Pero luego, el fantasma se quitó la máscara. ¡Era su amigo Leo con un disfraz!
¨¡Feliz Halloween!¨, se rió.
Emma y Max también rieron. Ya no tenían miedo. Todos fueron juntos a buscar golosinas.
